MONDAY NIGHT DRIVING RANGE LEAGUE
For registration on-line, click on the league name to the left.
One of golf’s biggest challenges has always been how to transfer skills from the practice range to the golf course. This unique league brings the course to the range!
How it works: Sign up for either the “single” or “team” division. You will be “playing” an opponent each week. A makeshift scorecard will be used based on how close your shots end up relative to the designated range or practice green targets. Each week you will hit shots with your driver, iron shots, pitch shots, chips and putts. You may be awarded an “eagle” for a spectacular shot, a “birdie” a “par”, a “bogey” or worse?
Simply, you will have beaten your opponent if your final 9 hole score is lower.
This is going to be FUN! Call our clubhouse and ask for Jorey Erickson, 651-787-0383.

Then all participants will be asked meet at the club to play their first official match during our “kick-off” night. Based on whether you win or lose your first match, you will play your next opponent in either the Championship bracket or Consolation bracket (much like many other sports tournaments like hockey or basketball) All brackets will be posted in the clubhouse. You are guaranteed at least 2 matches and don’t be worried that you may not understand how match play scoring works…all will be explained.
Your registration fee covers the qualifying round and kick off match round. Thereafter, you will have a deadline to call your next opponent and set up your match whenever you both agree to meet at Island Lake. Pay your green fee, play your 9 hole match (or 18 holes if you both agree before teeing off). Report the results of the match to the Pro Shop staff person. After all matches are played, prizes will be awarded to the Match Play Club Champion, Runner-up, a Consolation Champion and a Consolation Runner-up.

ISLAND LAKE JUNIOR GOLF CAMP
For registration on-line, click on "Junior Golf Camps" to the left.
The camp program is designed for kids who may want to play competitive golf later on,
try-out for a high school team, or just have the desire to reach their personal goals as a golfer. All will learn correct fundamentals from the beginning so as not to ingrain poor swing mechanics that will doom them to failure later on.
We have develop different skill based levels for the students to work through, be tested on, and graduate from. At each level, golfers will be given a golf shirt in the color representing their level. At the end of each camp, students will have the opportunity to test at there particular level. As each level is passed, golfers will receive a bag tag representing their accomplishment. Past participants in the Junior Excel Camps will be placed according to their 2007 accomplishments. So, while everybody initially meets as a group, it will be self paced to make sure each student is progressing at their own correct pace. We will work hard on learning the rules and etiquette as well.
The first half of each day consist of instruction on and around the green as well as instruction on the range focusing on both the short and long game of golf. We will break for lunch provided by the course and take time to visit. The group will gather back to play a round with the emphasis on putting the pieces together from that morning. We will develop fun ways and drills to remember the core principals of our program and to ensure they will take with them enough solid information to continue their progress.
