The camp program is designed for kids who may want to play competitive golf later on, try-out for a high school team, or just have the desire to reach their personal goals as a golfer. All will learn correct fundamentals from the beginning so as not to ingrain poor swing mechanics that will doom them to failure later on.
We have develop different skill based levels for the students to work through, be tested on, and graduate from. At each level, golfers will be given a golf shirt in the color representing their level. At the end of each camp, students will have the opportunity to test at there particular level. As each level is passed, golfers will receive a bag tag representing their accomplishment. Past participants in the Junior Excel Camps will be placed according to their 2007 accomplishments. So, while everybody initially meets as a group, it will be self paced to make sure each student is progressing at their own correct pace. We will work hard on learning the rules and etiquette as well.
The first half of each day consist of instruction on and around the green as well as instruction on the range focusing on both the short and long game of golf. We will break for lunch provided by the course and take time to visit. The group will gather back to play a round with the emphasis on putting the pieces together from that morning. We will develop fun ways and drills to remember the core principals of our program and to ensure they will take with them enough solid information to continue their progress.
